Remote work doesn't have to mean sitting at a desk. Need to jump on Zoom calls, answer emails or put in a properly productive day behind the laptop? Nusa Lembongan has quietly become one of the best places in Indonesia to do exactly that — and with high-speed Wi-Fi across all of our venues and accommodation, the only hard part is choosing which view to work with. Here is the island office guide, plus the remote-work tips that make island productivity actually work.

An Office for Every Hour of the Day
The trick to working well here is matching the space to the task — and conveniently, different venues suit different times of the day.
Start the morning at Ohana's Beach Club: a sunbed or daybed by the beach, great coffee, fresh sea breezes and an unbeatable outlook. It is the perfect setting for clearing the inbox and planning the day while the beach is still quiet and the light is soft.

Mid-morning, settle in over the water at Bar Riva — quality coffee, delicious food and inspiring ocean views, with breakfast running from 6:30am for the early-timezone crowd. There is something about water beneath the deck that makes even spreadsheet work feel scenic.

When you need real focus, head up to Ohana's Rooftop Restaurant — a quieter setting away from the beach club's energy, ideal for concentration while still enjoying the scenery. And for the long sessions, the deep-work days and the back-to-back call blocks, our most comfortable workspace is Nisi – House of Mediterranean: fully air-conditioned, peaceful and spacious, with excellent coffee, fresh Mediterranean cuisine and a calm atmosphere that makes three-hour stretches genuinely pleasant.

And when complete privacy is what the day demands — sensitive calls, recorded meetings, or just monk-mode — work from your own space: the balcony or poolside of your AQUA NUSA villa or the comfort of your Ohana's room, all with reliable high-speed internet. A villa with a private plunge pool makes a persuasive argument for the world's best lunch-break swim.
Remote Work Tips for Island Life
A few habits separate the productive island workers from the perpetually behind. First, work the timezone, not against it: Lembongan runs on Central Indonesian Time, which overlaps beautifully with Australia and Asia through the day and catches Europe in the evening — so front-load deep work in the morning and save calls for when your counterparts wake up. Second, build the day around golden hour: whatever your workload, plan to close the laptop by five. Sunset is the island's daily deadline, and it is a remarkably effective one.
Third, have a connectivity plan B: the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable across our venues, but on any small island a local SIM or eSIM with a data package is the professional's insurance policy for the big presentation. Fourth, change venues with your energy — the walk between workspaces is the island's version of a commute, and ten minutes of sea air between sessions resets the brain better than a third coffee. Fifth, protect your posture: alternate the daybed lounging with proper table-and-chair sessions (Nisi and the rooftop are your friends), and your back will last the stay. And finally, tell the team you are working — we will point you to the quietest corner, keep the coffee coming and hold the music down where we can.

The One Rule: Laptops Down at Golden Hour
A gentle word on etiquette, because it matters here. When the sun starts dropping and the beachfront fills for sunset, the laptop's day is done — a glowing screen on a beachfront sunbed at golden hour is not great for you, your travel companions or the guests around you. Consider it the island's favourite labour law: from your first coffee in the morning to your final email in the afternoon, one of our venues will always have the right space waiting — and from golden hour onwards, the only notifications worth checking are the colours in the sky.

Staying Longer: The Long-Stay Sweet Spot
Remote work and long stays are natural partners, and the island rewards them. The shoulder months — April to June and September to early December — offer the best combination of weather, availability and value for stays of weeks rather than days, and a villa quickly becomes a genuine live-work base: breakfast at Bar Riva included for AQUA NUSA guests, the beach club for lunch breaks, the games lounge for the after-work hours, and the nightly bonfire as the office social. Ask the team about longer-stay arrangements when booking direct — and check the month-by-month guide to pick your window.

Your Office With Island Views
Because remote work is always better when your office comes with island views. Follow @pt.aquanusalembongan on Instagram to discover all of our venues across Nusa Lembongan — then bring the laptop, and let the island handle the rest of the workday.
