If there's one thing that surprises first-time guests at Ohana's, it's just how good the diving and snorkelling is right on our doorstep. Manta ray cleaning stations run year-round nearby, and if you time it right — roughly July through October — you've got a real shot at spotting the wonderfully strange mola mola, or oceanic sunfish, drawn in by the season's cooler upwelling waters.

Our front desk team can point you toward reputable local operators who know the conditions on any given day — mola mola sightings especially depend on the water, so nobody can promise a sighting, but the odds are genuinely good in season.

We'd suggest an early start: boats out at first light, back at Ohana's by late morning for a swim and a proper breakfast. It's one of the best full days you can have on this island, and more than a few of our guests tell us it was the highlight of their whole trip.
